Stabilizers
Stabilizers – Ensuring Stability Through Every Turn
With our trusted stabilizers, the risk of dangerous swaying is effectively eliminated.
Stabilizers are designed to reduce a vehicle’s lateral tilt during cornering. They consist of a curved bar that connects both wheels on an axle. The center of the stabilizer is rotatably mounted to the vehicle body, while the two lever arms are attached to the wheel suspension of the front or rear axle. When one wheel compresses during a turn, the stabilizer prevents the opposite wheel from rebounding and instead adds compression to that wheel as well. However, when both wheels compress simultaneously—such as when driving over a bump—the stabilizer remains inactive, leaving the vehicle’s spring characteristics unchanged when driving straight.
By minimizing lateral tilt and crosswind sensitivity, stabilizers significantly enhance driving safety, especially when cornering, overtaking, or passing large vehicles like trucks, buses, or motorhomes.
